You must be a contortionist. I just installed new QTP's yesterday. I attacked from the bottom. My headers were on when I put the plugs back in.
1. wire off
2. plug socket on
3. stubby rachet & insert into socket
4. turn rachet manualy to get into socket.
5. cut, scrape and bleed. Passion will complete the job.
6. Jack that SOB up as high as you can!!!!!

no need my man. just disconnect and remove the blaster coils, not individually, the whole thing. it is bolted down by 5 or 6 bolts. once you take that off it is a piece of cake. pm me if you have anymore questions.

Just take the coil pack bracket off. It will take all 4 coils off at once. It is only held on by 4 10mm bolts.

After you get that off you have so much room to work.

Good luck!

with LT's u should be able to get them from up top by removing the coil packs. if u have a newer car the coils will all be attached to each other on a bracket. Otherwise u have to take them off individually (thats hwo my 98 is).

but for anyone with stock manifolds, the way I did it was to remove the wire from below, then stick the ratchet up with the socket and small extension and have a buddy slip in on the plug from above. It worked pretty well. the thing is stilla bitch. Im thinkin about getting LTs just so i dont have to mess with the plugs anymore

Lightbulb last plug removal

The last is a pain, but can be done easily if take all but the very back bolts of the coil bracket off. Just loosen the last one enough to swing the coils out over the intake. The plug can then be taken out by using a rachet with a swivel and short extension from the top. It took me 30 minutes to figure the last one out but now all 8 plugs take only 20 mins. Hope this helps.

Agreed.

However, with a nice set of gear wrenches the last bolt isnt that bad at all ...

Gear wrenches are a God send for working on these cars
