After researching online and having a seller on Ebay screw me around with MAC headers I decided to go with the OBX headers and Y on Ebay.
I'm betting that is the same guy that is messing me around on a set of mac headers. Been waiting over two months with no end in sight. Says Mac is having a problem with coatings. I'd get my money back but he's already sent me the cats and I don't feel like paying to send them back.

I just installed a set of obx and the headers fit ok except the bolt sticking out of the steering coupler hits the headers...I ended up having to dent the headers for clearance.

Also the Y-Pipe is kinda crappy fit so I had a muffler shop flare out the pipes and slip them together with a weld. No butt fit for me.

Headers bang on the floor but i'm pretty sure I need new motor mounts. I'm going to get new mounts installed and see if it goes away.

I haven't scraped the ground at all yet....i've taken a few pretty steep driveways and so far no prob's.

All in all they're good. No doughnuts and no bolts in kit either.

Who's had them on their car the longest? I'm just wondering about longevity.

It looks like the driveshaft has been rubbing on the hanger just past the resonator. Be careful...

I do not have a hanger anywhere on the y pipe. It did not include anywhere to mount one.

I have had mine for alomst a year. I think I am one of the first to have them. No problems with them, I can change the oil easy with them and they sound great with magnaflow catback. If you do a search I have thread with pics of the ground clearence and another with the sound. Also the only time my pipe bangs if I go WOT from a stop light making a sharp turn (at least I hope that is the noise I am hearing).

UPDATE****

Well sorry I havent been good about keeping up on my posts.. Been busy over on hptuners forum trying to get my tune situated. Aparently no matter how much air you can get in or out if the MAF sensor isnt reading it it doesnt really matter.. lol

But anyways I had to install a wideband and I noticed that the y-pipe didnt really fit correctly with the new clamps.. By the way those were 2.5" flat clamps from napa... rather expensive but well worth their weight!! The pipes are but style but they could easily be flared to fit better at an exhaust shop.

I didnt have any problems with bolt holes lining up for the collectors or headers to well head but I did go ahead and take out the black exhaust type shield that the y-pipe goes over... Figure its for like a driveshaft syle safety loop? Well at any rate everything is going good right now... still have some vibrations with the xhaust from the rear but think thats just an alignment issue.

Here are some more pics...

Haha! Thanks.. I love the wheels too.. Gots to keep them shinny :-)

The output for the Y is basically a step up to i believe a 2 3/4 inch to fit into the 3" SLP catback.. Im not a 100% sure though.. Pretty sure though...lol

awesome write up. i have already bought these headers and am just waiting to come home from overseas to install them. i was going to put together a list of parts that were needed for the install. I am also gonna go with new manifold bolts and the OEM manifold gasket. I saw you said that you went with corvette o2 sensors but woudn't extentions be cheaper? I definately don't wanna give up anything in the hp department but i don't wanna have to do anything twice either.

the list:
1. manifold gasket and bolt kit
2. napa 2.5" band clamps?
3. o2 extentions? size?
4. ?? any recommendations would be much appreciated!

I put these on my a4 and they fit awesome. When i transfered them to my m6 well thats a different story. They still fit good but apparently GM in their infinite wisdom decided to tilt the m6 tranny down 1" lower than the a4 so now my y scrubs sometimes where in never did with my a4 car. I'm going to weld an exhaust hanger just above the y and pull it up.

I'm not a big fan of those flanges. The XS stainless headers have been proven and are a better buy. If you're not going all out for power, I think those OBX ones will work over stock.

good deal but the side thats never low looks low on the passenger side. The bast deal to me is XS HEADERS the OBX they do not make in race style and they have cats. I would want race headers with ORY and they are a thinner cheeper stainless i had a friend of mins crack I have pacestter lt with TSP ORY so if i ever change it i will get XS headers
