I've created a monster
Well, I went overboard in my quest for quiet power. Final coats of paint are going on. I used 2 Flowmaster Super 40's with 3" inlets and outlets and flanges to bolt up to my 2 1/2" duals dumped in front of the axles which also has 2 26" long PowerSticks. The mufflers actually tuck up pretty good under the gas tank, but it ain't light. I've only cranked the motor up once during the fitment and it's quiet, almost to quiet. I might be ripping out the PowerSticks next.

Way to long. My welding and fabbing skills ain't so hot. A lot of trial and error. The hardest part was getting the mufflers angled because there isn't enough room to mount them flat under the tank and making the drivers side inlet on the muffler so the panhard bar wouldn't hit it on the way up was tough.

Got er figured out eh! Cool you did it yourself.
I had to pay a guy to fab it up as the cost/benefit of learning to weld and getting all the stuff just wasn't worth it.
I did something similar only with bullets in that trunk area.
It's like a different car to drive now, so much more enjoyable than the dumped duals.
I've got mine painted and will have pix once the guy gets the tips straightened out.
Nice work dude.

Thanks! Yeah, I figured I had enough practice with the front 1/2 of the exhaust, I would try something more complicated. The little Miller welder is fun to learn on. I also learned I'm getting to old and fat to be laying on my back welding pipe though, man I need a lift. Post some pics when you get a chance John.

I actually conscripted a guy that normally works on Honda's and other imports for it.
Very skilled welder, did it on jack stands in his garage. Nice nice work.
Here's a link to some initial pix in my photobucket... as a teaser.
But you know I'ma do a full thread with lots of pix cause I'm a raging pic *****.
Then we'll have to get vid clips to please the masses too..
Question, did you pull the wire pack on the drivers side for clearance?
My guy did, he actually drilled it out it, zipped it to something above the rear end, and extended each individual wire 12" color and gague matched, soldered and heat wrapped..!
Pretty impressive.

Nice John. What bullets are the red ones? So you are running 2 pairs of bullets now? That ABS harness is really in the way. I ended up getting some ideas from Mark Rogalski's setup and made a spacer to fit inside the car underneath the harness. It makes the harness sit inside the car about 1 1/4" deeper and away from the pipes. I'll still be using heat wrap on that pipe just for added insurance. Another problem I had was the flex line from the chassis to the rearend kept getting in the way of the drivers side pipe, so I had a custom flex line made 9" longer with stock fittings. Fun stuff.

They're "straight through" bullets, but they got stuff going on on the inside that makes them NOT really straight through.
Most appealing part about them was the $18 pricetag, and workable size.
Other than that, I havn't ever really heard much about them.
So now I've got 36" of mufflage on each bank as well as high flow cats.
So its pretty quiet.
Anyways, on with your pix, and the vids....
Those Mufflers were a second option I wanted to work with, so I'm curious how those sound compared to these bullets.

Wow, i'm planning on almost the same damn thing! Current exhaust in sig. Its pretty loud, but fine for a stock motor. I'm doing H/C/I so it'll be way louder. I'll see how it is with this setup. If needed, i'll change up the pipes and put in 2 bullets. We'll see how that goes because I might switch to the 40 series Flows and dual electric cut-outs!!!! I think that would be ****. It'll sound awesome and not really loud for everyday driving and starting it up at night in my neighborhood. Of course that'll hurt performance some, but you don't need that for the streets. Thats where the dual cut-outs come in...right after the bullets to by pass the flowmasters. Its like having 2 exhaust systems in one! I'll do it if needed. I can care less about cost and I do all the work myself anyways.
We need vids!!!!!
