Broken header bolt
Broken header bolt I'm putting some longtubes on my car today. While removing the drivers exhaust manifold I discovered that the head on the rear bolt was broken. I didn't do it and I bought the car brand new. The manifold has never been removed before to my knowledge.
How could this bolt be broken?
Why did I not have an exhaust leak with this broken bolt?
Since I had no exhaust leak before can I put the lt on without removing the shaft of the bolt?
Can I use gasket maker to help with the seal?
I can't get the bolt out. I've soaked it with pb blaster and vice grips are just sliding on it. Any suggestions?

Thanks, but doesn't help me out. Anybody have any ideas? Can I just use some high temp sealant and leave the ****** in there. It has never leaked before, I don't know why it should now?
that sucks bro, i broke one of my header bolts putting my longtubes on last time, im tackling it today i hope it comes out somewhat easy

How far is it sticking out?
If there's enough material, put the boxed end of a wrench over it and weld the sumbitch to it. Then you should be able to get it out. Worst case, it strips out, and your in no worse shape than you are now. Or, maybe it just comes out and your good to go.
Use anti-seize on the bolts when you put them back in.
