Default My car is acting crazy!

It has been running great, until this morning. I drove to work shut my car off. then a few hours later had to run an errand and when I went to turn the key the dash lights came on like normal then everything just died. All power was gone to the car for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. The lights did not come on the radio did not work or anything.

Then all the gauges went to max and fell back down and all the lights came on on the dash. I then turned the key and it started up but idles horribly. It was idleing at 1k then dropping to 200 RPM every second or so until the car died.

I then restarted the car and it ran fine back to work. but I had a whining noise from the speakers like I have a bad ground. It gets louder as the RPMs go up.

After I parked the car at work I shut it off and restarted it and it idled from about 1k down to 200 RPM again every few seconds.

Any thought on what could be the problem? I have never had my car tuned after the Header install a few months ago. Although i think headers would have nothing to do with the car running like it is right now.

Thanks in advance for any information or help guys!

My car does this same thing! mine will start idling like that, but very rarely. I do however get power to everything but i get that whine feed back through the speakers.

After I let the car run for 15 - 20 minutes it seams to be running ok right now. I think the computer had to relearn the car. I am sure I still have a problem someplace though.

Mine did some of those things right before the battery died completely. Started doing it about 35 miles out of town,(middle of nowhere) but did make it home then wouldn't do anything at all till I changed the battery.

I had some wierd power issues like that, even losing all electrical power, briefly while driving.

Turned out to be a loose connection at the Positive terminal Post on the Pass side. My connections were not tight, so the power terminals at that point created a lot of heat, and started melting away the insulation and wires themselves. It wasnt pretty when I found the problem.

I am going to get out my tester tomorrow and and take a good long look under the hood at all my major wires. I hope I can find what caused this issue easily. Nest week I am ordering my intake and throttle body and then having Chad @ Green Light Motorsports install my nitrous kit and my intake and A pillar gauges and also do a tune. I hope it runs like a raped ape when I am done.

Have you checked your wires form the battery and make sure the ground is not corroded

That was the first thing I check this morning. I went ahead and pulled both the positive and negative off and wire brushed them even though they looked clean. I also pulled a few more of the grounds off around the car and wire brushed those also. I still have the noise. It is trying to drive me insane slowly!

On the bright side it did give me a reason to detail my entire engine. It looks good now!
