LM1 = very loud with full exhaust.

LM2 = not so loud because there is an actual bullet muffler instead of an open can/resonator like LM1.

You can always get LM1 and put a Borla XR-1 (Stainless Steel) in place of the resonator = Borla-Mouth:

Borla XR-1:

And you're wrong. Yes you can make a Borla-Mouth out of Loudmouth II.

Loudmouth II is the same damn thing, except II comes with a bullet muffler. You won't need a Borla XR-1.

Peace,
Craig.

I run a LM2 with kooks lt's and catted y. Its pretty tame till you really get up in the RPM's. I have to get it inspected within the next month. Ill let you know if it passes. I believe they measure the db's @ 3000rpm's here in ol delaware.

I have the lm2 with headers and cam. It can get loud at upper rpm's. I love the sound but recently its been getting some unwanted attention from the coppers so I might need to quiet it down a little. I've been thinking of going with either magnaflow or borla muffler but not sure which one will keep the aggressive tone while cutting down on loudness and rasp. Need help here guys. Sorry to kinda hijack. Lm2 is a great exhaust btw. Listened to sound clips but they really aren't helping much.

Just a little hint, but LM1 has nothing inside it. It is just a section of expanded pipe. I was really upset. I guess that is why they called is a resonator and not a bullet muffler. So get that LM2, or any other bullet type muffler like the borla xr-1.

LM2 bullets are the way to go.

I too had the LM2,LT's, ORY and switched to magnaflow. Got pulled over twice and ticketed for speed...when they just heard me from far away. Magnaflow is almost quieter than stock. Kinda dissapointed at first but it's growing on me. Still miss the LM2. Would put it back on if cops weren't gonna bother me.

I didn't say anything, haha, just asking a question. I know the only difference is the bullet muffler, which is why I asked. The way I read your post it seemed like there was a difference.

My bad, I didn't notice your ? at the end of your sentence.

You can do it, but I don't know how much the XR-1 would out flow the LMII bullet.

Peace,
Craig.

Good thread, exactly what I am looking to think about... I am soon looking to purchase some Kooks LTs and a catted Y-pipe and I'm currently running a LM1... From the searching/reading I have done so far I think I either want to go LM2 or Borla. My concern with the Borla is that some people mentioned clearance issues? But I do enjoy the sound of the LM1 on my current stock manifold catted setup... Videos or sound clips anyone?
