Post Header Isntall Questions!!! Help! So yesterday i put on longtubes and an ory an let me tell u with the loudmouth its crazy loud!!! Iv noticed though that it idles realy rough though now an sounds more like a cammed car. I did the idle reprogram procedure i found on here but it still idles really rough. It also seems sort of choppy on the acceleration when im not on it just accelerating normal. Is this all normal or is there something wrong?? Im thinking the computer might just need time to learn the idle without cats or o2 sensors. Right now i just have the 02's plugged in the pipe but disconnected an just ziptied till i get extensions.....could this have anything to do with it?? Any help would be appreciated thanks alot!

Yeah if you don't have the front O2's in, the computer will run in closed loop. That would probably result in alot of weirdness because the computer thinks there is a problem. I would avoid driving it without those front sensors plugged in.

no the rear o2's are for emissions, you will get a ses light but have no adverse effects. just get some rear o2 sims, or have them tuned out...
CORRECTION: Front O2 sensors not plugged in will cause the car to continually run in open loop. This will cause bad gas mileage and loss of power. Don't waste money on extensions, just cut up the O2 sensor wires and extend them yourself. It takes about 10 minutes and is really easy. Just extend 1 set of sensor wires about 2 feet and the others about 1 foot. Cover them in foil for heat protection and you're good to go. I did this last week. No issues.
If you installed an ORY, just unplug and uninstall the rear O2s and put them in your garage. They no longer serve a purpose for you. They are there to show the computer that the catalytic converters are doing their job. You don't have cats, so take 'em off.

ok so im running to speed inc tomarow after work an getting some extensions so that it'll be plugged into the computer an until then im not gonna drive it....thanks for all the help an everything should be fixed up by wednesday il let you all know how it goes. Oh an if anyone wants their car to sound like a race car at WOT i reccomend my setup....iv already scared numerous people!!
OK so i hooked up the new o2 extensions so everything is plugged back into the computer. The car idles a little better but still runs kind of rough an at 1400rpm it kind of sputters an the whole damn car shakes but only at that speed. Then last night when it was raining i was with my friends an tryd to do a doughnut in an empty parking lot an couldnt even get the tires to break loose because of no low end acceleration unles my foots basically on the ground. Anyone have a clue what could be wrong because I dont wanna take it in to a shop if its something i could fix myself.

Front and rear O2 sensors are identical for the F-body cars.
Take your best 2 condition O2 sensors with the extensions, plug them into the header O2 bungs. Use anti seize on it and tighten it down real good. Until you get O2 sims (hard to find) or your rear O2's tuned out, plug in the worst 2 O2 sensors into the rear bungs OR simply find a bolt that size and plug them up.
Either way without cats the rears will tend to throw a code.
