Question MAF Problems....

My SES light came on and I'm throwing a P0102 (MAF or VAF Circuit Low Input) This might just be a quincidence, but also after my SES light came on it started shifting REALLY hard from P to D and it shifts really hard from 1st to 2nd. Its been tuned so the shifts were pretty hard but now it feels like it going to break my neck. Ive been reading that if the MAF is messed up or unhooked it automatically sets the line pressure to 100%? So all this brings me to another point, Ive been reading the pros and cons of keeping the MAF or going to SD and i don't really know which one i want to do. If the MAF is bad then ill have to throw down about 120 bucks on a stock one. I plan on doing a cam swap in the near future somewhere in the range of 23X - 24X 6XX - 6XX. From what Ive read, it seems like its a little easier to tune for Cam, Heads, Etc... In SD with less restriction from the MAF. I figure it will cost around 150 bucks to get it tuned in SD so i don't know. Help me out guys. Thanks.

Check the Eng Sens fuse under the hood first.

For about $100 bucks you can get a Delphi 85mm MAF on an online auction site, get the adapter wiring harness from Caspers and a silicone coupler from online (to mate the lid to the new MAF and don't forget the new SS worm clamps either). I have heard of SD but don't know much about it.

Did you by any chance over oil your K&N filter... it's not hard to do... and I believe these are the symtoms.

The fuse also sources 12V to the O2 sensors. Check the O2 sensor wiring for a burn through around the headers and a short to ground.

I did just oil it the other day. Tried to go easy on the oil but it was dark and i was in a hurry. I dont like the k&n, lets to much crap thru. I think im just gonna go buy a fram tom. And i did lengthen the 02 plugs when i did the headers, so ill check and see if there loose. Thanks guys.
