compression test??? whats the correct way to do it?
Remove all the plugs, Hook up the tester to 1st cyl and fully depress pedal (cable TB only). This will cut cranking fuel (via pcm values) and allow very easy cranking via unrestricted intake draw. Spin it over 3-4 times and record the reading. Release pressure on tester and repeat for all the cyl.
If you have a cyl that is down >10% try squirting a very small amount of oil in the cyl and repeat the test, if the numbers come in line then your rings are damaged or worn. Otherwise it may be valves or gasket. In which case a leakdown would would pinpoint the problem more closely.
