You didnt leave the dryer exposed to the air to long did you?
I had to replace that can by the battery becasue I didnt realize it needed to be sealed at all times. Left it exposed when I did the engine swap.

Drier was replaced... New one had sealed caps, that werent removed until I was ready to bolt the drier on. The desiccant inside is what removes moisture from the system, and if you leave it open, it will remove moisture from the atmosphere...and eventually "wear" it out.

Same with the evap coil. However I sealed the ends of that as soon as I removed it. I considered replacing the drier as a maintence type deal...so I didnt bother trying to seal it up.

All or most of the remaining moisture in the system should have been taken care of while it was pulled into a vacuum.

Did you get a chance to see if pulling those heater hoses off made a difference?
