I did the appearance, then performance route on my last car. Big bang for a hot appearance, but then you have to put up or shut up. Keep it on the down-low until you have more go, then show. I am thinking of going completely stealth with my new Z
It is harder to keep it under wraps with a convertible, but let's face it, it is not a granny car in the first place. You will be much happier with the bolt-ons first. Unfortunately, modding is an ongoing process. Once you start...

Camaro inserts good... The rest, well unless you mean lowering as appearance the rest is a no go. Get the go fast goodies first. A good lowering will cost you a tad over a grand. Now the other route LT's, Y pipe, cam and tune would put you around there dependin on what hardware you choose and labor you can do yourself.

The LS6 intake will pay dividends in the long run, get one used, get a EGR adapter from Ligenfelter and you'll handle the smog testing with ease.

Despite putting on a heavier LS7 clutch/Ls2 flywheel, sticking on the LS6 intake, I still gained HP and torque.

first of all, I cannot run longtubes so everyone stop mentioning that. I live in Ca...

Secondly, what is this EGR adapter you speak of for the ls6 manifold??

The only one's for sale on here are the one's without EGR, the only one WITH EGR is from SLP and they're over $500 (to my knowledge). Now tell me about this adapter... lol

So you are telling me I can use a 00-01 ls6 manifold (with nno EGR), and hook that EGR adapter up, and be 100% cool for smog in Ca??? If so, HELL YES! lol...

That's what it looks like. I had never seen that adapter before he mentioned it so I googled it and found that link. Looks like it should work for what you're wanting though!
