I've only had QTPs, catd' Y-pipe, Borla, and a big stall, and it didn't sound too bad. With the cutout open, it sounds similar to a LMI, and would only really rasp after the converter locked. At WOT it didn't sound bad. If I weren't worried about the "man" I probably would've liked it more, because I always found myself more worried about getting pulled over then acutally enjoying driving the car. Here in Northern Cali', the cops don't play.

To each his own. Good luck.

I have heard A LOT of LM cars at the track. The catless ones are just plain loud. I am not a fan of the tone, there's too much rasp and it takes away from the sound IMO. A catted LM sounds awesome though.

I get a ton of compliments from mine. I love the way it sounds when I go WOT. Idle sounds good too! Redneck or not ..a lot of people think it's cool. Now I may have a taken a cussing when blasting by someone on the highway but since I can't hear crap WOT inside the car except my pipes, I chaulk it up to that being another advantage of the LM1!

I had to take my car in for referee inspection and I failed AFTER taking my QTPs off, and even through my closed Borla and manifolds (with OEM cats') I still failed. I don't think my car was tested correctly because I thought I read the SAE test was to rev' the engine to half the redline speed and my car was tested at 3900 RPMs, which may be why it failed, but I don't think LTs would pass any noise test.

JMHO...

I have the LM2 and I love it. The best is driving down the street and people are damn near breaking their necks trying to figure out what in the world could have possibly made a sound that could only be compared to pure sex...
