Default professional products typhoon

Anyone use this? they have a 85mm Throttle body to go with an intake manifold setup for the 85mm. It cost about half as much as running a F.A.S.T setup 90/90. Clue me in please! Any input appreciated

Half the horsepower gain as well. Dyno results are not steller. I think the BBk intake dynos a little better. Unless you are running a big nitrous shot its not worth it. Go with a LS6 or save for a FAST.

I like mine, it definately pulls hard up top. Most of the dyno's I've seen have it ahead of the LS6 over 6000rpm, and I know someone who only swapped to the Typhoon from his LS6 intake and noticed a seat of the pants difference..

.. but I'm sure someone will come along posting the ONE graph of the ONE guy with the GTO who stayed the same as his LS6, like they do in every Typhoon thread. I'm not sure why people go out of their way to badmouth a sponsor using 1 example.

You are better off going with the LS6 or saving for the FAST, as previously mentioned. I've talked to sponsors on LS1TECH that have stopped selling the product (Typhoon) because of all the fuel leak problems, gasket sealing issues, etc. The local speed shop (sponsor on LS1TECH) will not even install that intake manifold. All this is proof enough for me to stay away. There is always the BBK SSI for around $400 if you absolutely want something different that will put down some gains over the LS6.

If you got the Professional Products intake to work for you, that's good for you. You are one of the lucky few that I've heard. It's not only that the power gains are minimal at best over an LS6, but also all the trouble that one can have installing it. I almost bought one from someone on here, but looked through his past posts and saw all the trouble he had to go through to get it to work. That whole ordeal is not for me. I believe that is the reason he was switching back to the LS6.

That is my $0.02 from the research I had done. I'll let people find the dyno graph on their own

I had the manifold and Professional Products had great customer service. To fix the fuel leaks you use thread tape on the pipe fittings and thread sealant on the an fittings, problem solved. Of course, I had to figure it out the hard way. I also had the wrong fuel rail hold downs, they were for the ls2. I bought this from a member and they still sent me a whole new set of gaskets, fuel rails, hold downs, and the stuff for the rear of the manifold. As long as you have the black gaskets with the orange bead you will be fine with the intaking sealing properly.

Your sig says LS6 manifold, why did you switch away from the Typhoon?

I got the ls6 for free and needed some money. So for a couple of hours of work I made 350 bucks.
