Default BeCool is in, still running hot

ok i had this thing running for about an hour, had a funnel in the radiator waitin for it to suck it down a and revved it several times to get it to. This is what happened in that hour... i went somewhere then came back home and sit there and let it idle with the AC on. it would go up to 217 and be bubbling like crazy then all of a sudden boil over out of the funnel and suck all the coolant out of the funnel and i would be pouring some in as it would do this to keep it topped then go down to 210. it did this several times like 6 or 7 to be exact. The system was topped completley off last night i'm 100% positive of this. the bubbling eventually stopped after the 3rd time it boiled over and it went down to 208-210 but it would still go back up to 217 then boil over and steam out i would have to pour in water to keep it topped, and each time i poured it in it would take half to 3/4 of a gallon everytime it boild over and out the funnel. I've given up on it today. its hot here in alabama but i figured a becool would do the job, i guess the problem is somewhere else, it just started running hot about 3 days ago and i figures it was cause it was a really hot day thats why i put the new radiator in it, i figured the 402 was producing a lot of heat. any chance of a head gasket leaking cylinder pressure into the system? the oil is not milky and the exhaust is not steaming. its like it builds up air pressure in the motor then it finally reaches the inlet hose and all the air steams out but i have no idea where the air is coming from? the first time it ran hot i was sitting in dead stop traffice and it was hot as hell outside but it never did it before and the system was topped. does anybody have ANY ideas?

Do you still have the front air dam installed? If so, are your fans coming on properly? Otherwise, try the usual things like thermostat and the radiator cap.

I cheated on mine, i drilled a small hole in the thermostat where water and air can bleed through, and it filled right up, with my 408 and stock radiator my runs about 205, try that or prop the thermostat open with a asprin(the asprin will disolve), then fill ur system, if it still bubbles do a compression check and make sure a head gasket is not leakin, cuase it can be getting in the chamber and not ur oil!

How long has this been going on, since the swap or out of the blue?

I had a similar issue. Then I changed the radiator cap to a new one from GM and all issues went away. Something to look at. Are you fans programmed to come on earlier than stock?

Could have a air pocket in the system?, try draining the system and fill it from the top Radiator hose 1st, then fill the rest of the system.

I had a similar issue with a 454. I threw all kinds of money at it into the cooling system and everything was new. I still didn't fix the problem. So I sold that ****** and got my Camaro. After doing that, I'm thinking somehow the gaskets did not match up to the heads and a passage was blocked. It was a fresh rebuilt and I don't remember specifically matching them to the heads....

That is something to think about if everything else fails. I put an electric water pump, beCool radiator, huge electric fans, and the ****** still ran hot.

I installed the Be Cool Radiator part # 60028 about 2 months ago... I friggin love it so far! Never had any overheating issues... if anything it dropped the temp...

I installed a 160 T-Stat while I was at it... put in some water wetter, and tuned my fans as well...

I also got one of their cool radiator caps which works really well...

I wouldnt trust your temp gauge, do you have tuning software you can hook up and see what its really running?
