OK What the F' is this crap...
OK What the F' is this crap... Since i bought my 2000 Trans Am, I have noticed that every so often i'll pop the hood and my oil dipstick will be raised slightly off the tube. So everytime i push it back on and the same thing happens.
When i got it dynoed at Thunder Racing i mentioned it, they cleaned the pcv thinking that might be the problem. Well they said it could be blowback, if the engine is worn down but i put 318/328 down stock. Of course while it was on the dyno the dipstick didn't move.
Anyway, i still have this prob every now and then, so what could it be?

sounds like preshure in the motor.
i had a 98 gtp that was makeing a wierd noise like a belt squeek and it even did it with the belts off and i replaced the pcv valve and it still did it.
i for some unknown reason was under the hood messing with the car and took the oil cap off when it was started and the noise went away and there was a good amount of presure in there.
i fixed it by drilling a tiny hole in the oil fill neck right under the oil cap.
so eather that will fix it or a breather cap.
