heads and intake swap? help

ok i have heard of people doing the ls6 heads and intake swap on the ls1. is there any way of identifying if a set of ls6 heads or ls6 intake has been installed?

the casting number on the heads. It should be visible on the passenger side. Mine are 243's.

ok yours are 243's. now are those ls6 or ls1?

243 = LS6 head (very few LS6 heads have the sodium valves that came with the Z06)
241 = LS1 head

There are part numbers for the LS1 and LS6 intakes as well but I don't have them right now.

You got that half right but 214 is not an ls1 casting.

243 Heads = Ls6 Heads from the ls6 or ls2 motor.
806,853 or 241 Heads = Ls1 Heads

806 = 97-98 Vettes and Fbody's
853 = 99-00 Vettes and Fbody's
241 = 01-up Ls1 Vettes, Fbody's and GTO's
