Acually the owner of the car that they used to proto-type these headers lives in phx,Az.He was very delighted with them,I've also been told they have a thicker flange and better welds and look cleaner than the hookers. There based off hookers design..His name is tom simpson he can be reached at azls1/lt1.com just leave him a pm.

I have looked at them and while they are good quality for pacesetter, they don't compare to the other longtubes like QTPs, PPC, etc. There is weld slag inside the primaries from where the emissions stuff is welded in, collector's are ratty inside, have to ziptie one wire on the passenger side away from the emissions fitting so it doesn't burn, one primary tube is MUCH shorter than the others on one side, and the ones I saw still had 3 beads inside trapped in a corner or two of the collector. Definately not high quality, but good for the price they charge.

Just recieved a set today. It does have a thick flange. The collector needs some cleaning up, as do the emissions fittings. But for 265.00 new with hardware what can you say. I'll install them next week, but the car wont be ready to run until next spring so I cant give a sop or track info until then.

The headers do rock for the price , I installed them last weekend and had no issues, I thought the O2 bungs where abit too small but the bungs where welded about 1/16 off set so I just needed to grind the edge abit. Other than that they don't hit the floorboard, they go in easy, look awesome, sound good. I mean they are probably not as good as Kooks are QTP but for about Half the cost I am buying LS1 Edit now lol. I posted the pics over on LS1.com as their was a big thread on PaceSetter Headers. Overall they are an awesome deal.

i guess it all depends on how much performance u want out of your money. Sure they will add hp, but u will see better results with a tuned header like hooker and qtp! I would just wait a little longer and save your penny's for a set of hookers or jet hots.
just my 2 cents

In a way yes, I predict there will not be a higher horsepower to dollar spent ratio then with the Pacesetters. "Tuned headers"..."equal length"....there's more than a little hype with these terms....

The Y-Pipe looks pretty nasty...

As a true grot owner, I've seen some nasty Y-Pipes too.

Come on guys. Do you really think Hookers or QYPs are gonna give you more than possibly 1 or 2 hp more than these things? I have dynoed hundreds of combos, and it just doesn't happen.

I may buy a set of these and fab some true duals

Can you get them without the emissions crap?

Reckless: Thank you! ....lol.....the voice of reason in the midst of chaos...

Not sure if you can get them without any emissions crap, but I know they are model year specific so no matter what year your car is you don't have to order egr pipes and what not....

Mine should be here by Thursday, they just finished coating the y-pipe and shipped it yesterday.

If they just copied a set of grotts, you are probably correct. I've seen different brands dyno more than 2 HP different, but that was early on in the game.

Also i assume you are ignoring the merge collector option on the QTPs. If set-up right, I would expect the merge collectors to be worth 5 HP or more.

They look like a good deal for the price but they aren't a "Hooker ripoff". The Hooker headers have promaries that are much closer in length to being equal than those. I'm sure it's not worth more than a few hp like someone said, but you get what you pay for. My only concern would be with the 2 very short primaries for the last cylinders on both sides compared to the twice as long primaries for the first cylinders on either side Their y-pipe on the other hand does look like a complete copy of the hooker y.
