Low coolant sensor is on the r.h. rad tank, about 6 in. down. It's a square sensor with a two wire connector. I think if you just unplug it the light will go out.

The sensor has gone bad... Replace it with a new one... this is something that seems to happen to everyone... no biggie, just get a new one... I wouldn't just disconnect it. Mine went bad, then I replaced it and it fixed the problem. About 2 months ago (1 year later) the light came back on again.. So I thought the sensor went bad. Well just so happens I had a hole in my radiator and my coolant WAS actually low... Disconnecting it is NOT a good idea for long term...

It's located on the back side of the radiator right below the radiator cap...

it is... there is a small metal bracket (looks like a bent up paperclip) that holds it in place... it's not too hard to get off...

If you already unclipped the sensor wires, and have taken off the wire paperclip like clip, then the sensor should just come out with a slight pull, and i'd twist back and forth at the same time to coherse it to pop out... it's got a rubber O-ring on it probably making it a little tough but it shouldn't be too bad... Coolant will come out so i'd have something handy real quick to plug it up until you are ready to put the new one back in...

If you are talking about the sensor wires... and NOT the paperclip wire... then what you need is a flat head screw driver to pry the flap on the clip open, then pull the sensor wire/clip off...

There's 3 things total holding that sensor in there...

1. The sensor wire clip... sort of looks like this

2. The little metal "paperclip" bent up clip that goes around the whole sensor to hold it in place...

3. Sheer tight fitment of the sensor in the radiator...

comprenday?
