Talking mac mids vs. lt's?

im running mac mids bolt ons cam only ss camaro. would it really be worth the money to get longtubes. i was thinking of getting slp's (notlowering the car) but im curious to whether the lt's really flow much more than the mids.... besides the great sound will the power gain be worth the cash? im running no cats and have a cut out with magnaflow ctbk

I had mac mids with there catted Y pipe and I was still powerful and Loud. Now I recently got Pacesetters and TSP Y pipe. and you can really feel the gains past 4000 rpm. Just my thoughts.

yep go with the LT's. I think you'll be happy with them.

+3.

I've had MACs and gained another 20 RWHP with a tune with LTs. Suprisingly, the sound changed more than I thought. I think it sounded better. There are so many LTs out there now there's almost no reason to run anything less than LTs (except for emissions reasons.)

Power's pretty dam close. Long tubes sound better imo and I was bored with the Macs. If you really want long tubes yes I say it's worth it.

I went from Mac's to QTP's with a dual cut-out y-pipe. Lost a LOT of ground clearance with the QTP y. On a h/c car I gained 1.5 mph with the QTP's/cut-outs open vs. the Mac's through an open Borla. Wish I would have spent the money on something else (especially since the merge collector QTP's were $1250 for just the headers when I bought them).

For your combo the macs are ok. If your going to build a motor or put heads and a large cam go with the LTs. I would get the kooks 17/8 and be done with it. I ran coated and ported macs for a long time. They make good peak power but you lose alot of midrange torque with them.
