Unhappy powdercoat or paint FAST intake

guys, I have a 2002 collectors ed. t.a. and allreadyhave my frc"s painted yellow,and I want to color match them when i get my intake replaced ,my question is what should i do, get it p.cd or go the rattle can route .im going with the FAST intake. thanks.

i don't think you can powdercoat plastic.

I guess you can hook up the electrodes to it and watch it just blow powder at it.
Most people spray theirs with spray paint and then just clear coat it. Not making fun of you, I actually clicked this link in hopes of there being a metal FAST intake.

I saw a thread recently of someone powdercoating their intake. It looked good and the owner said he hasn't experienced any problems with having it powdercoated.

It's pretty easy to paint the fast intake. Just make sure you do light coats at first.

is better if u sand the intake first, primer, then paint (^^light coats) and clear

Not to be a wise guy or anything but the way powder coating works, is polarizing an object, and firing electrically charged paint chips at it (sticks to the electromagnet) and than it is baked on. You can not powdercoat something that will not conduct electricity.

I'm no genius at powdercoating...don't even know anything about how you do it, but can you tell me how he powdercoated these intakes for lsx's on this link provided above our posts???

I guess they get it stactically charged enough to make the particles stick. that does make me wonder how they really did that.

thats because the guy that did the lsx intakes used a new form of powdercoating that is out on the market now i seen this at sema its actulay a liquid powder it is sprayed on just like paint and then baked.
