Ouch! What kind of degreaser were you using. I have used a few different brands and it has never done anything like that to mine. What kind of lid is that anyways?

WTF is up with that? I've used engine degreasers that have NEVER done something like that...

It's a TSP Lid and I used "Gunk Foam Engine Cleaner/Degreaser"

I soaked everything with it, and let it set for about 5 or 6 minutes then sprayed it off with a high pressure washer... seems the lid was the only part affected... so must be the aftermarket plastic they use... I'm thinking just by looking at it, the thin layer of clearcoat on the lid is what took the hit... if there is a layer of clear coat on it... it looks like there is so...

That sux! I use that same Engine cleaner and havn't had that problem. It must be the material they used back when they used to make lid's (TSP that is). My SLP lid hasn't done anything of that nature when using that same cleaner.

from my understanding the TSP was the best fitting of them all... the SLP however supposedly was the best flowing... Keep in mind flowing difference between all the lids really is negligable. SLP couldn't have been the best fitting seeing as a good percentage of people that had them complained about the lid rubbing their hoods... of which i've seen in person....

My Slp don't rub but my friends does. I think its the smooth bellow that makes it rub. By the way k&n + Slp = leaks.

I think the issue with the SLPs rubbing was with the SS and WS6 fbodys.... They have a higher sitting lower intake.
