slp lid as good as any? i'm gonna buy a lid and was just wondering if slp's is fine? i'm guessing a lid is a lid for the most part. can i get a k&n filter for it at an autozone or something??

well a lid is a lid so the slp is fine.i would get a holly filter or even just a ac delco one.the k&n's dont seal that good because they sit lower.and the oil from the k&n can get on your maf and make the car and tranny act wierd.most people dont notice a diff between the k&n's and simolar filters over a good factory one.

I removed the tray that came with my SLP filter,,it seals great. Before, when i had that tray in there, it would not wanna seal on one side or the other,,,and the damn thing rubbed. I just ditched the lil black plastic tray

Do not buy one from Granatelli(SP) i had to do so much modding on that thing to get it to fit, i mean after i was done you couldn't tell cuz i put the time in but i was pissed that the bolt on factor was not there at ALL!!..SLP is my vote
I've got an slp with their smooth bellow and no rubbing. Perhaps the issue with rubbing is the fault of the installer, not the part. Either way, fit and finish are great. I'm currently using a holley filter, and it also fits and seals well.
I have a smooth Bellows on my TSP lid and it doesn't rub... so I don't know if that statement is completely accurate...

Also, I said that the smooth bellows is a useless mod. If one was given for me for free, I would not use it. If someone offered me $20 to use it, I would not take the money. It's a useless mod and all it causes are problems.
I've got a Whisper Lid. And its a damn good fitting lid. But if I had to do it all over again I would buy a MTI Clear see thru lid. Them Bitchs just look awsome sitting under a hood with the air filter in clear sight. Just my 2 cents. But you asked!
