STOP GRINDING for Long Tubes
I was reading the stickys about grinding the K member and the oil filter housing to get a long tube into the driver side. This is very unnecessary. That part of the oil filter that everyone is grinding....unbolt it. It take about a minute to get off and no gringing needed anywhere. Just be ready with new bolts, I snapped one off with the air tool. By the way, I have no exhaust on yet, just long tubes, my ears are ringing.

That part is called the oil diverter plate (held on by two 10mm bolts) and sometimes you still have to grind down the K-member to keep one of the primaries from hitting. It all depends on what type of longtubes you get. Some require you to grind down the K-member, others don't.

All I know is that pacesetter LTs on a 99 WS6 A4 car slide right in. No grinding, no mount moving, no steering shaft unbolting, nothing. I am sold on pacesetter after that install. Fantastic fitment!

I got the jet hots and seen everyone on stickys saying gring away. Two 10mm bolts was way easier than gringing. What is the oil diverter for? Is that if the filter is too blocked to bypass the oil?
