Default xs headers and a catted y

ive searched and ive read but didnt find a conclusive answer, if one even exists. do any catted y pipes bolt up to xs headers? if not, has anyone done a custome catted y and can share some good pics so i can get some prices to duplicate it? my city is not much of a speed area so good fab shops are very hard to find. thanks

I'm curious about that too.

They are supposedly going to come out with one pretty soon ... in the meantime, my guess would be that a TSP would fit, as Y-pipes that fit Pacesetters seem to fit XS. You could call and check with them.

I bought the XS y-pipe and had two stainless steel Thunderbolt cats welded in. It's working good for me and had no problem passing my visual inspection last week.

Where did you place them? I thought about doing that, but on the ds it looked like there would be interference and on the ps the right spot was right at the joint. Love to see a pic if you have one.

I don't have a pic and don't know when I'll have the car up in the air to get one. But... the cat on the passenger side runs parallel with the length of the car and the driver side cat runs (basically) perpendicular. The driver side cat sits directly below the fuel lines. I used an SLP install kit when I had my headers installed and had a little extra O2 sensor wire insulation wrap left over. I used that extra insulation to wrap the fuel lines to keep the heat off of them. It's working quite well so far and I don't see where it'll be a problem in the future. There's plenty of room under the car where the cats are located and there's no rubbing.

BTW, I picked up the Thunderbolt cats (the ones with the metal insides) off of eBay for $60 a piece. The ceramic ones where a little cheaper, but I thought I'd go with the metal ones since they should last longer and perform better. My exhaust guy sells the same ones for $134 a piece and was pissed that I could get them for less than half his price. He says the only way they can sell them for that amount is if they're stealing them from somewhere. Oh well... sucks for him!

Good deal. Sounds like it worked out well. If you ever get a pic, post up.
