Fuel line to close to cat??! advice needed

Default Fuel line to close to cat??! advice needed

ok so i did a little custom work, i put on some cats on with my LT. one of the cats at about 1.5" from my fuel lines. is that to close? i put exhaust heat wrap around the fuelk line and some around the cat.

is this ok or safe?

I had some cats welded onto my XS y-pipe and the driver side cat sits just under the fuel lines too. I had some heat wrap laying around that's used for protecting the O2 wires after a LT install. I wrapped the fuel lines with it and zipped tied it in place. It's been about 1,500 to 2,000 miles so far in thick traffic (Washington, DC area) on some pretty hot days. So far, so good...

ok i went and bought some thermo tec heat reflective wrap and put it around it i think its good now.

No problem.


Fuel hard line is rated to very extreme temperatures.

The only time you would have to worry is in a carbureted car, being under low fuel pressure, you can have vapor lock due to bubbles developing in the fuel.
