Re: best headers for 98 ls1 I like my Hooker LT's. They tuck up nice but the Y-pipe hangs a little low so it might be a problem for a lowered car. also gained like 20HP/28 ft/lb Tq. w/ them. definitly a good mod

Re: best headers for 98 ls1 im looking into qtp or slp. alot of people say the hang too low. but my question is its performance? if i get headers im gonna get mines done professionaly, and they should take care of the hang too low problem. but i wanna know does slp headers perform good though. but nobody seems to ever answer it...just always say it hangs down too low...

It is more proof that SLP is overpriced. Sure they are better than stock, but not a good choice in my opinion....if you want all out the best ones, then either QTP or Kooks. If you are more concerned with a very good upgrade at a reasonable price then the hooker long tubes are the way to go. I just put them on my car and they do not seem to hang too low. I don't have the Y pipe though, so I don't know on that.
