Default LS6 intake swap problems

Two weeks ago i installed a LS6 intake on my 2000 car. I later learned that you are supposed to remove the coolant lines but i just bolted the intake down over them. Is this going to cause any problems. The only thing i cant figure out after the swap my oil pressure gauge is pegged out. Is this because i smashed a wire causing it to ground out, or why else would it be like this?

Many have done the swap with the F-body coolant line/tube by cutting or grinding down the ribs on the bottom of the intake. Some have takn a step to flatten the coolant line/tube down by hitting it down flat or oval.

Many time on a intake swap, many have found that the Oil Pressure sensor is no longer working correctly. It seems that it doesn't take much to break the plastic sender. The Sender wire goes fromt he sender to the wiring harness and is not routed under the Intake, so I don't think smashing a wire is your problem (?). There are wire for the Knock sensor under the intake and on top of the Valley cover. You might have to replace the Oil Sender unit. (PITA for you F-Body guys)

you probably broke your oil sending unit or knocked it loose...it's up top on the back of your motor behind the intake. looks like a little cylinder standing up with a couple wires coming out of it. it's really easy to hit with the backside of the manifold when installing it because the sending unit actually sits between the manifold and the vacuum connections on the manifold when it's all installed.

ls1howto.com has a few good pics under 'manifold swap', check them out...

no,

just go buy the oil pressure sensor tool from autozone and unscrew the old one, remove, insert new one, tighten, DONE!

It's behind it, but the brake booster vacuum hose wraps around it, so it's easy to break it on an intake manifold R&R.

Like everyone else said, you broke the oil pressure sending unit.

If you keep the intake on while changing it, be prepared to do the seeing with your hands. Its crammed back there.

work smarter not harder take the intake off replace the sendin unit before you creat a big problem for yourself. i broke mine and since it wasn't leakin oil i thought it was ok until the diaphram burst and it leak 4.5 quarts of oil down the back of my engine and on my exhaust.

yes, it the o-ring / gasket should be ok. Just be carefull on re-assembly and don't knock or break the new sender.

Good luck.
