Muffler?

Muffler? Im gonna take a small piece of my exhasut pipe out to make the exhaust not pass through the muffler good or bad idea?
By the way im trying to get the car to sound alot louder the cheap way.
Any ideas will it sound like **** or what?

cheap way? Best I've seen is buy a $40 (or $60, can't remember) Dynomax or Magnaflow (whatever your choice) bullet and cut your exhaust off at the i-pipe, then weld in the muffler with a turndown. Sounds pretty good, flows as good as ur gonna get w/out a new y-pipe and headers. Good luck.
