Default Would removing the muffler hurt my performance?

On my 92 RS I did a muffler delete and fabed a Y pipe and ran straights back with tips, it sounded great and I even thought I noticed a little power increase, now htat was on a 305, will this have any negative effect on my LS1? Thanks for all the help!

My o2 sensors sure didn't like being open header but that was with no extended exhaust piping, directly out of the header.

the bigger the motor, the more it will enjoy having open exhaust, so yes your LS1 will pick up a bit of power from open exhaust. Should sound decent too, pretty loud

there will not be any adverse affect from removing the muffler on the car. Depending on how much pipe infront of the muffler you remove might set off the rear O2 sensors though. But just removing the muffler and leaving the exhaust dumped before the axles will sound nice and loud
