What did you decide to go with? I really want to quite my car down too, It's just way to much for me.

LT and 2 bullets dumped H pipe..

Im tired of my car being so loud... not exactly tired, but dont wanna attract lots of attention due to police and complaining neighbors..

yes I know, screw them, but thats beside the point. Id rather get a quieter exhaust...

Now what I am looking for is a quiet muffler. I wanna go back to a Y pipe setup maybe...

The only problem is I want soemthing with good flow, because Im installing my heads and cam next week and will be making a good 430+RWHP.... stage 2.5 5.3l heads and a torquer 3 cam..

I wanna be quiet as possible without loosing too much flow.

what is the best on the market for my application?

Hooker aerochamber? magnaflow?

I really dont know what to choose at this moment. I mean I like the type of sound the dynomax with ORY and LM made.

I just want a quiter versiona nd I dont wanna run any cats...

any suggestions?

Hooker is clearly the answer here. It is exactly like what you are looking for.

Hm, my 3" duals with Magnaflow's dumped is way quieter that I expected. Mellow and really deep in regular driving and wakes up, but not ear-piercing loud at WOT.

OT: everytime I see your sig it makes me wanna throw in a dip lol.

was the Dual/dual really that good? I never went with it in the beginning way before I had headers and just wanted a catback. because I heard the LM was better flowing....

But I Guess Im gonna go with hooker. I just dont have a clear souding video of how hooker will sound.

So the Magnaflow sounds like crap when you make 400 + RWHP? I've been wanting to change my set-up. LT-ORY-CUT OFF(always open)-FLOWMASTER. I'm thinking of changing muffler to Hooker muffler or maybe true duals. I already get old folks and kids to cover their ears when I drive by, start the car or sit at lights, but I feel a muscle car should roar. Not sure what to do. Hooker muffler cahnge only or true duals for better sound.

SO the 3 recommendations Im seeing is SLP dual/dual... Magnaflow and hooker..

Im leaning towards the hooker.

in fact all I wanna do is purchse the muffler, Im gonna get the rest fabricated at a shop. because of my suspension the stock setup may not clear anyways..

a certain horsepower range doesnt make sense on how something will sound. Im sure its usually after revving to a certain rpm they dont sound to great, maybe over 6200 or so.

This is about the best description of the magnaflow I've read. +1 for the magnaflow.

SLP Duel / Duel. There's no comparison for a quiet great flowing full stainless exhaust. If you want the "stelthy" look, go for the "TOTL" http://store.specializedstainless.co...t/Detail?no=44

Where are all these Magnaflow haters coming from? It's a great sounding muffler, even on higher HP applications.

I have heads/cam, pacesetters, ory, and magnaflow catback. It was ok with cats, but with the ory it sounds absolutely horrible at part throttle. Like a big 10 chevy truck with glasspacks. FWAP FWAP FWAP..... I can't stand it! I even installed a loudmouth muffler in the I pipe and it still sounds like crap. I think I'm going to try the hooker.

Edit: I installed the magnaflow before doing the motor mods. I did this because I thought it would be a good setup for my upcoming mods and it sounded great then and was very quiet. But it's not a good match for a heads/cam/lt/ory car if you want any kind of deep agressive sound when accelerating under "normal" driving conditions. It does sound good at idle and wot, but not in between. At least with my setup.

Let me put it to you this way, with my cutout open, I made 508 rwhp, but with it closed, I made 499 rwhp. When I was making 433 rwhp with a less potent setup, the loss between open and closed was only 2 rwhp. Basically, the dual dual kicks ***.
