Default EGR Question

I was hoping someone could post a pic of an EGR set up on an LS1.. Just to make sure I know what I am talking about..

I was looking at the LS1 FAQ and it says that no 2000-2002 F-Bodys came with the EGR setup.. But I think my 02 LS1 has and EGR system..

Thanks

I also ran the numbers for the intake and it is an LS6 intake.. I also read somewhere that the LS6 didnt have an EGR system..

Any pics of the AIR system in a 02??

You explained the AIR system, since you referred to manifold as plural, and that round thing is part of the AIR system (I just ripped the exact thing you described off my car).

What all else is part of the AIR system.. There are some very small hoses coming off that round thing, do I just take them off and use rubber caps on them??

Thanks

you might be making this a little but harder than it should be, but thats ok, its scary ripping things out of your car.

when you said round things, im assuming you mean these (in the green boxes)

all the wires going to that go away, gone, throw them out. the only thing you need to cap are the holes in the exhaust manifolds were those cylinder things used to be. after that you shouldnt have any tubes running to your headers/manifolds.

the little hole in the manifold is the thing yo uneed to cap. one on both sides. then you are done.

On my motor the hoses that come from the exaust manifolds meet up at a distrobution block.. At the read driver side of the intake..

go to this thread and it is in the middle of the picture..

It is bolted down, be mindful of what you start pulling on. I can't remember where, but it's real close to the firewall and there is minimal room to work.

It is tight back there and be careful when tugging and pulling on stuff. I just removed the EGR from my '00, the only thing left is to pull the air pump off, it's annoying to hear it turn on while driving, caught me off guard the first few times. If you are looking for a product to block off the holes and if you have an '00 or later LS1 then you'll need the piece that blocks off the EGR probe port in the manifold. Anyway I purchased a complete set of block off plates/plug from LS1Speed (sponsor on here).
