I like my hooker catback. It's pretty quiet, with a deep sound. And then you can drop the muffler at the track.

I recently gutted my cats, and now it just sounds flat out mean. No rasp or anything bad.

LOL.. I can't believe some of these answers! When compared to a loudmouth/gmmg.. anything is quiet I guess .

SLP Dual/Dual is the quietest cat back I've ever heard on a LS1... and I have heard (in person) every catback listed on this page.
100% correct, I have tried almost all of them. The dual/dual flows very well also, if you want quiet there is nothing close - except for stock SS/Z28..

You mean stock Z28 & TA/Formula. The stock SS/WS6 exhaust is louder than the Dual/Dual.

One thing that I did before I got my catback/headers etc...was put about a 2 inch piece of pipe between the pipe going into the stock muffler and the right side pipe...kinda like a little crossover...made the car sound really good and wasn't too loud at all....might want to try that out...

yes, the stock dual tip SS/WS6 exhaust is a little louder then a dual dual outside the car. I meant TA/Z28, dont know why I typed SS

I just wanted to publicly thank all the posters on this thread that helped me select a catback. I am quite pleased with the SLP 2OTL. It is louder than stock, but not at all objectionable to an old man. SOTP dyno says the car runs better too. I will see this weekend how it sounds with LTs and ORP.

Thanks again!

Welcome back to the V-8 world. I'm and old guy too and I thought the stock Firehawk D/D was just too quiet. I think a muscle car should have some growl. Then I installed FLP headers and the supplied hi-flow cats and now I think it sounds just right. Noticably louder but nowhere near as loud as the Loudmouth.

I completely agree with that. The dual dual with stock manifolds and stock y pipe is so quiet for being aftermarket I cant believe it.

B&B doesn't flow very well. The corsa is nice if you would like to spend as much as the average H/C package on a catback and have a muffler that falls apart inside.

I run a Stainless steel Magnaflow. Its a quiet and has no rasp. I think its the best sounding catback out there.
