what engine temps r u running? im asking this cause the past 2 days i think i might be running a little warmer than usual. 5 min into the ride the gauge spikes up to around 215 and neutralizes around 230-235 ish. i dont know if thats normal for LS1's but before that it would hold at 200-210. its weird cause the past couple days have been really cool outside and im a little skeptical. i was planning on doing BG coolant flush for it (even though its not that bad) but i have a feeling its the thermo
my 2000 stay at 209 once it's warmed up regardless of any temp outside. but i also did replace the water pump alittle over a year ago. do a flush and see what happens, you might need to replace your t-stat

If yours is a 98 then your temp gauge works. Might be time for a new thermostat. Any other year it just sits in the middle once the engine has warmed up. It only goes higher if it is overheating.
