Default Anyone thought about adding the new GM remote start??

Can the new GM remote start be added to our ls1's?
To clearify I am talking about with all the new cars they produce they now have an option for remote start. I was wondering if we could purchase this kit or have it installed to our cars?

JMO but even if it was possible it would probably just come out cheaper to get any aftermarket alarm with remote start. lets face it GM parts are really expensive at the dealership(specially for our cars)

understood that GM loves to pull at our pockets, but even still I would like to know the cost, you never know....I would like the fact that it would retain the factory clicker and not the l.e.d blinking clifford style thats carbo fiber etc etc.

I don't know about F-Body applications, but I talked to my dealer about putting the new GM remote start in my Sierra, and he said it's not a direct fit for the older models. I then asked him for his opinion on the aftermarket remote starters, and he pulled out a burnt rat's nest of wires from a cabinet behind the desk. He said they pulled it out of a truck that someone was complaining about rough starting and a burnt smell. He said that the way some of the aftermarket shops hack into the hot starter wire causes a serious fire hazzard. I think I might take my chances with my old Cavalier, but that's about it.

sounds like one shop just didn't know what it was doing. I have an aftermarket remote start on my truck and it was only $65 and installed it myself. I tapped into the hot starter relay trigger wire to keep everything low current inside the cab.

S10blaza- Where did you buy that? & Does it come with instructions? It sounds good, but I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to the relay trigger & low current inside the cab.?

I got it off ebay, its a Crimestopper unit, alarm and remote start. Not to sound like a dick, but if you have to ask or have no idea what I meant you should leave it to a pro. I've been into electronics/electrical etc.. since I was like 15.
