Question leak

i just put pace setter headers and ory pipe combo but not pleased so far . the connections leak like hell and the y knocks the **** outta the floorboard. i used 3" band clamps in hopes of not getting the C clamp impressions but the band clamp leaks like hell where it joins together. how can i fix this, i have seen some posts on other sites saying something about foil wrap. What kind and where do i get it . 1 local guy told me to use a heavy duty aluminum foil , but i just dont like the sound of "Reynolds wraping " my exhaust but if it will fix it i dont really care anymore.

and has any1 else had clearance issues w/ pacesetter LT's and y . i have seen a bracket or something to prevent this but will it work in my case and where can i get it ? when im under the car it seems like the pass. side header hangs about 1/2 - 1" lower than the drivers side which is causing my Y pipe to hit right under the seat, and is really aggrevating and IMOP sounds like ****.

any help /suggestions plz.

ive also heard it cause your engine to think its knocking when it hits which retards timing idk if this is true but the only think i could do to fix the laek was have it welded which fixed it but now ill have to cut it if i ever need to remove it so hope that helps ya

its bad enough the guy who installed the headers any Y welded the back part of the Y to the intermediate pipe but i can deal w/ this along as it comes apart at the collectors.

first of all the headers rubbing against the frame is normal after the installation...simple fix...but a bitch to install is the polyurethane motor mount bushings..(https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=492703)it is a worthwhile mod....avoid the embarassing noise...about the exhuast leak...get it welded together..im not a big fan of relying on clamps when it comes to exhaust...

oh yeah

.don't use foil or any wrap on the headers...cause em to rust on the inside..especially foil made for food

i really dont want to weld cause im having head issues at the moment and a possible rebuild might be really soon. how about the steel tape they use in heat /ac duct lines will this hold up to the heat? cause i know it'll block the flow but for how long? or a thin piece of aluminum like whats used in trim coil ?? i've got a **** load of that stuff . the only place its leaking is where the clamp bolts together
