Which y-collector? Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
Im going to have a custom y-pipe made by my local muffler shop after I install my headers and I wanted to add a y-collector.
After researching ive found that the flowmaster y-collector seems to be the most popular, but I have heard that there are fitment issues and its prone to cracking and leaking.
I was also looking at the magnaflow y-collector and it looks very good, ive found a few expensive stainless steel ones but im not looking to spend that much for a ycollector.
Which one is better quality and will flow the best with no problems?

magnaflow

flowmaster
I dont want to go true duals because I dont want my car to be super loud.

Not sure about either. I really wish I could find out what was used on my car but the Flowmaster merge is big, just keep that in mind.
Contact American Racing Headers. The merge they use is identical to mine and it's really small.

I just got my exhaust welded up with the flowmaster...magnaflow didnt have a 3 to 3.5 tho so that's why I used it. It's built real nice and the merge looks like it flows better than the magnaflow one

call them, they might make it out of stainless for you. Seriously, though anyone with a welder could make one.
I think its the best y out there. it has a cone merge like the qtp's

I have the Flowmaster. I like it because the transition is very gradual - no bottlenecks or restrictions. When you look into it, it's a very nice piece. You can see how it will maintain velocity without unduly restricting flow or creating turbulence.
I have the Flowmaster and feel it is the smoothest on the market. I wouldn't swap mine for either the Magnaflow or DrGas units. In fact, the only reason I would mess with mine would be to step up the size to 4 inch after the merge instead of my 3.5 inch.
ya, bought thats very nice.
Im just saying for the DIY Ypipe guys. If you gona have a custom Y section made, see if they can do it. Or if your making the Y pipe off the headers, its easy to make the "Y"part. It's not any materials really, The pre made ones are gona cost more to buy, then you spend on the whole Y section. Headers,to I pipe.
