True, I can't imagine not having A/C in Austin.
wimps hahaahahaha
A daily driver MUST have A/C anywhere with any kind of heat. Think of it this way, do YOU want to explain to your date or g/f, etc, why you are all sweaty and why they shouldn't ever ride in your car if they dont' want to be all sweaty themeselves?

with only one seat in my car, i pretty much dont have to worry about it

After i removed mine i lose some sec & mile's in 1/4, Yes. it doesn't hurt anything to keep it in, but if delete it you'll lose some mile's at 1/4 and up.

Why you surprised ??? thats what happened to me exactly???

Not surprised, confused. You mean you were slower at the track after you removed the AC?

I won't be removing the A/C. It's easy enough just to pop off the belt for track duty.

With no EGR, manual rack, relocated coils, and tubular k-member/arms, engine bay almost looks empty. (see link in sig for pics)

I dropped an AIR tube bolt the other day while trial fitting my EGT probe. I'll be danged, it actually hit the ground! (no crossmember to fall in to...)

nahhhh......so far......I have only used my AC once this summer (was in bumper to bumper trafic for a good 20 mins...) and already we have hit 110 outside (Phoenix, AZ babi....home to the 115+ degree summer... ).....I just don't take the T-tops off (blocks the sun...)....

if I can get through this summer without using it....the AC will be gone.....

your loss of MPH is NOT from the AC....its something else....loss of weight DOES NOT make you go slower.... ....

if being heavier made cars go faster...I would find 3 FAT!!!! women so I could get good ETs

Las Vegas and Phoenix are a dry heat ...Plus, I can't hear her complain over the sound of the true dual exhaust

Rip it out...it makes working in the engine bay much easier.

I just removed mine. It was a 32 1/2 pound weight savings including everything to the firewall.

My car is a track only car but I do have to drive out. In the summer it's a little warm driving out but I'm at the track all evening without ac anyway so what's a little longer.

I had planned to keep mine but having changed my cam twice the line from the evaporator to the firewall fatigued and started leaking. This line was $104 at the parts store plus re-charging to get it back going. Not worth it for a track car.

Alright the A/C comes out. I saw the comp cam yesterday, lift was about .650 with 1.85 rockers. Thinking about an electric water pump but Lamar is not crazy about that. Saw the underdrive pully. Those .090 heads have some strange features. The fun starts next week.

well...the summer is over and the AC WILL be staying on.....I'm a *****.....the 115 degree Phoenix summers are just too much

since I can't get rid of the weight, I guess I will just "have" to go 427

Removing the A/C is one more thing the belt has to turn correct. Therefore increasing power if removed? How much power?

Today it was near 100 and I still haven't used my a/c...i was soaking wet though. Heat doesn't really bother me. If i did date a girl i could understand leaving it in.
