Default Dynomax Ultra Flo vs. Flowmaster

Anyone know about the performance gains of the Dynomax. Sound, flow characteristics and such.

TIA

Heard it's about the same as a Magnaflow in sound, flow. There both stainless to.

I'm using Dynomax. During tuning, they unbolted my Y-pipe to check it and I only gained ~ 4 RWHP. It's a pretty free flowing setup. A buddy has Magnaflow and I like that one, too. If I were to swap, that's the one I'd get next.

I am using Dynomax Ultra flo out back with a Dynomax Race Bullet behind my Hooker ORP and Jet-Hot LTs.Haven't dynoed it yet but it feels like a 30rwhp gain.It sounds like no other setup that I've heard,it is not raspy at any rpm and is very quiet at cruise speeds.I love it.I can't believe that mufflers so open with no cats are this quiet

I think its a no-brainer - Dynomax Ultra-Flo. For a comparably sized muffler the Dynomax will flow twice as much or more than the standard Flowmaster design. The Dynomax will give you a less "aggressive" sound than say a 40-series FM, but it will be comparable in tone. I'm not too familiar with the 80-series (crossover) Flowmaster, but IMO the Dynomax Ultra Flo sounds very much like a 50-series Delta Flow Flowmaster. Very little resonance, but a deep, mellow sound from outside.

Oh, and btw neither is stainless (unless you go with the UltraFlo SS) - they'll both be nice and rusty within a year or so

I love my dynomax Ultra flo. Only 3RWHP difference between it and open cutout.

Mods and et/mph in sig
