Default Duals: Magnaflow 4X9 clearance

A shop told me that true duals would be hanging too low, especially with the 4X9's (dumped). I know there isn't a ton of room, but I've seen a few people on here running these mufflers. The clips I've heard are exactly what I want in an exhaust system. I plan on running 2.5 inch pipes (with an H) into the 3 inch mufflers (I order them that size awhile ago, before I decided with 2.5 inch pipes).

Anyone have any major gripes or complaints about this system? All replies are greatly appreciated, as my car now sits with open headers (somewhat, but not totally, undriveable). If these mufflers are too much of a headache, the magnaflow bullets may be an option.

To tuck mufflers of that size high enough to avoid ground clearance problems, you will probably have to get a BFH and 'massage' the floor pans above the mufflers.

as do i....and have no problems.

didn't have to do anything to the floorboards at all...

one doesn't even hang that well...it was a rush job on the welding due to an impending hurricane

I assume both of the above cars are still at stock ride height then? I apparently momentarily forgot not everyone lowers their car, my bad. Stock height shouldn't be a problem, as shown above.

^sounds like you got a real low hangin setup. I'm stock height and have never had any sort of problems at all, even with 4 people in the car.

My car is stock ride height and will remain that way for a long time. If it does require some "massaging", then I may switch to the magnaflow bullet-style mufflers(can't remember the exact name). I'm glad to see most don't have problems. I'm going to search around here for a shop that isn't afraid to work this out.

mine is currently stock height....but i do plan to lower it a little.

trying to work out a way to get 3/4" drop...cause i'm sure 1.25 is gonna be too much

Update: Got everything clamped up temporarily and drove it for a couple of weeks. It would scrape, but not nearly as much as before. I had to unbolt it due to it coming loose on my friends street and the car is currently out of commission.
I'm thinking of putting some 18" extensions off the X pipe to push the mufflers further up into the space between the floor pans and rear end. Does this sound ok, or would I be better off putting the mufflers right in front of the bumper with tips?

If all else fails, I'll go with some magnaflow bullets and run it out back sooner than I had anticipated
