I have dumped TSP true duals right now and just got tips in preparation for running the pipes the rest of the way out the back. For you guys who say you can lift your car without removing the pipes, did you have the pipes run under the axle with the car on a two post and the rear at full extension? I'm undecided if I want to have the pipes installed with the car on a two post or a four post lift. They'd sit tighter to the car with the rear at ride height, but then again, not a whole lot of travel to the rear.

If you do it on a two post lift then you are going to rub on everything. The only way I can imagine this being done is on a drive on ramp or the rear on jack stands. You can put flanges on the exhaust so you can detach the exhaust from in front of the axle back so you can use a two post lift.

I like it. Im thinking about having my duals ran just like that. It is almost impossible to find someone around here that can go over the axle.

Um how is it too low when it's not any lower than any dumped exhaust setup?

also, you wont hit speed bumps with the pipes since speed bumps stay below the tires.

i love the look of under the axle duals.

2000taws6, the best part of how your's looks is both pipes are symmetrical. both at the same height.

Ok since you're so smart and have experience with running them out the back explain how it is lower when it is run out under the axle vs dumped.
Here's a pic of mine.

IMO people run them under the axle cuz they dont want to spend the money to have them done right. if you like it under then run it under. i would never do it becuase it seems like a hassel, take your pipes off to lift your car. IDK its your car so do whatever you want. I dont see why people put a ton of money into there cars then cut a corner here.

^^^What's wrong about under the axle and right about over the axle? It's not cutting corners either. It's an option. It works well either way.

How is it cutting a corner. And I DON'T HAVE TO TAKE OFF MY EXHAUST TO LET THE AXLE HANG. I HAVE ALSO NEVER SCRAPED THE UNDER THE AXLE PIPES.
I've scraped my collectors many times, but never the under the axle pipes and my car is lowered 1.2-1.3" with 3" duals.
I LOVE how people with absolutly no experience with this know all of the answers.

Over the axle just looks way cleaner. I don't understand why you would want to go under??? there are no advantages except maybe saving a hundred dollars or so. Just but the BMR relocation kit and go up to 3.5" pipes over the axle!!

I wouldn't trust under the axle especially on drag radials/slicks when your car squats...

Over the axle for the win.... It been done this way since the firebird and camaro first came out in 67...

What's the advantage with going over the axle... besides spending a few hundred $$ more?
