That would probably be a common place for any of them to leak as 4 pipes are welded into one collector.

Did you torque the bolts down before getting them all in? Start from the middle and work your way outwards leaving the bolts loose. If that's what you did then I don't know what to say.

Ok, well as you can see we sell both products. IMO American Racing has the nicest system on the market. Sorry QTP. Their fit, and quality, are superior to any other brand. Their design compared to QTP's is very similar. Both have a fantastic design.
The QTP has a nice polished look to them which is very pretty.
Over all if it were going on my car I would do the American Racing for the ease of install and the nice advantage of how the "Y" pipe fits. However it would be hard for me to spend the extra coin on the American Racing product knowing how well the QTP design works. It simply comes down to this. Both products are awesome in the design for power. If you the kind of guy that would rather save a 100 bucks or so for a extra hour or 2 to get the fitment perfect then you’re a QTP potential buyer. If quality, and fitment are your main goals but want all the power possible at the same time then ARH is your system.
We have a ton of ARH in stock and on sale. QTP is getting a large order ready for us as well, so contact us if you interested in either system.

I believe there is a problem with whatever batch my QTPs were made in with leaks. My brother and I had to send back his because I noticed there were some spots inside the collector that weren't welded completely; after the next batch was made he was sent another set. I eventually noticed mine had some leaks and when I had to pull them off I just used some manifold repair and seems to hold up for now. I haven't put more than five miles on the car yet but I noticed it's a LOT quieter now; there is nearly no header ticking or anything like before.

I don't think it's necessarily possible to completely weld these collectors because of the design though. I'm not saying it can't happen but I don't know if anyone really can or does.

You'll be happy with most any of the ones mentioned in this thread.

Might want to do a little more research on the American Racing headers before you are 100% on the Kooks. Kooks makes some excellent product but honestly the ARH design for the F body is flat out a better design especially when you look at the collector's and Y pipe.

Yes this is true on the HVM design. If you call QTP and tell them you are not happy with this, they tell you they can't do anything to help you. There have been plenty of threads about this on here closed because they are a sponsor.

I have the non-HVM QTP's and the headers are great but the y-pipe is a joke. Its not stainless and its a heavy mess of pipes, one old three bolt flange collector, and a gigantic flowmaster 4 inch merge collector. Even if you lose power by running a simple design (like American Racing and Kooks) its worth it because of how clean the install looks.

The nicest quality/fitment headers I have put on were actually Pacesetters. The y-pipe and headers were perfect. Too bad these are not available in stainless.

not a huge fan of mine. didnt fully weld the collector, had to notch the k member, hang very very low, huge weld in the middle of one of the primarys, and only one fo the primarys (same one with weld in it) is fully welded on the outside of the flange. all the others are welded from the inside and tacked on the outside. im just venting...

thats what i did first and it didn't work. the only way i could get the majority of the bolts on was to do the outer two first and basically do a little bit at a time on each bolt. this was on a brand new ls6 head by the way....

I must agree with the fitment of the Pacesetter. They fit very nice. The "Y" pipe design is about as bad as it gets and right there with hooker's poor design, however the fitment is great. Pacesetter very well could be the best bang for the buck, but it will fail incomparision to the top header systems.
Kinda like compairing a 04Z06 to a 02SS. The SS is the better bang for the buck but the Z06 will whip its *** in every performance test possible.

Mr Bait purchased his product from us locally. I think at the end of the day we both wished the ARH product would have went on the car.
He overall is pretty happy with the QTP product but like he said he did have some issue's.

My QTP's fit great, but I think they are pieces of crap. They are full of exhaust leaks, and with the design of the HVMC you cant weld them so they wont leak. The ypipe sucks, but I got it to fit nice and my car sits on eibachs. I barely ever scrape. I have had to adjust and readjust at least 5 times to get it right though. If I could afford to id sell the whole setup in a heartbeat and get kooks or AR

I like my QTP headers, no leaks, I got them ceramic coated to preserve the look also ceramic REALLY keeps the heat in the engine bay down. You can work on the engine within an hour after running it hard and at temp.

The fit on the driver's side was like a glove, the passenger side took some fighting to get it in, but once in, it's not coming out for me.

The HVMC's sold me on power, I had 349HP and 359ft/lb of torque with true duals. Netted 33 HP more and 34 ft/lb more from QTP + true duals with cats AND mufflers still...
