Default QTP Longtubes??Any complaints??

Does anyone have any complaints on the Race Style QTP Long tube headers? I am about to purchase a set of these instead of the cermaic coated edelbrocks that i was first going to go with. FastToys sells the set for like $690.

Lack of Y pipe options. They do fit close to the body though. They don't make any more power than my Jethots did.

IMO, best mix of price, power, and reliability out there. still in the upper echelon of headers with Kooks and ARH, but at half the cost. and stainless too. gotta love the HVMC

Well i wanted these because i am about to spend a lot of money in the heads/cam package. I dont want to buy a good heads/cam package and buy ceramic coated headers that will be rusting and chipping. All i have seen are good reviews about these headers. For the y pipe issue, i will not need one because i will have the headers running to true duals.

mine fit like crap. i got a custom y-pipe anyways so that wasn't an issue for me. my complaint was that the bolt holes didn't line up to the head. i live driving distance from qtp so i just drove over there and they just told me that it should line up and to try again. i managed to get most of them on there but i wasn't at all satisfied with the fitment or the customer service.

I cant decide whether to go with QTPS or Kooks. Maryland Speed is running a special where you get free coating on them.

free coating on stainless steel headers....sounds like a terrific amount of time and money (however in this case free) spent. you don't need coating with stainless steel headers!

I have no complaints about my QTP’s, the only thing I wish is that there was an option to buy the "Y" pipe and ORP’s in stainless steel.

I'm not sure about the current batch, or even if there is a real problem with them, however I'm happy with mine. They didn't fit as well as their standard collectors did when I had them some time ago, however it wasn't too big a deal to do a little grinding on the K-member.

I think you'd be happy with either Kooks or QTP. Don't forget there are other stainless LTs out there too.

Good luck.

I have just heard that Kooks and QTP show some of the best performance gains out there especially KOOKS.

Mine only required a slight notch in the K member on the passenger side. No stainless Y irritated me too. Then again, if others have had fitment issues with the standard Y, I'd look to custom.

i had mine on with no problems and no fittment issues. i took mine off only to go with the bigger kooks only reason. as far as the y pipe i used the texas speed ory pipe good clearance no issuses. they also work good with tsp true duals as well.

Dynatech, QTP, Kooks, ARH, are all around the same quality, you will find a sack rider for all of them. I have personally Dynatech, a header that makes great power, I also have helped installed QTP's which went fine. Good fitment and makes great power too.

If you stay with in the 4 choices you will not be disappointed.
