Default So I went to the Exhaust shop...

...And they said "There aint no way duals will fit on that car".

Then they told me a single three inch wont even fit, because it wont fit over the axle.

Whatever. Im just getting a catback.

Or just go to a different shop and show them pictures of the set up you want. There are plenty of pictures on here you could print off. I guess they just want to do the work.

Don't let them do any work on your f-body...I made the mistake of trying to "teach" and exhaust shop how to do it...big mistake and a waste of money.

Bmr I believe makes a panhard rod relocation kit for this issue, makes it easier to fit 3'' duals. If thats whats truly the issue anyways...

The stock exhaust is like 2.75'' on the part that runs over the axle, do they really think that a .25'' bigger diameter pipe is not going to fit up there when plainly you can see room around the piping....and you wonder how places make money......

It sounds like that shop is either imcompetent, didn't want to do the work, or a combination of the two.

If you're set on the duals, like it was mentioned already, look at the Bassani. If you want to run a full 3-inch out the back of the car though, but may have to do a little banging on the floor if you want good ground clearance.

There is a lot of information and pictures here regarding TDs. Do a search and see what's been done. Don't give up yet.

I agree. I would avoid that shop in the future. They obviously dont have any knowledge of F bodies if they say a 3in cat back wont fit. Mufflex makes a 4in cat back that will fit over the axle. Its really tight, but it will fit.

There are plenty of people that are running over the axle duals. 3in might be a little tight, but 2.5's should fit. Like someone said, there are lots of pics floating around here, print out a few and take it to a reputable shop and they should be able to do it.

LOL this is pretty funny, I stoped by a shop the other day. They also siad that it would be impossible to do duals on my car. Then I stated that it was possible and curious of what it would cost ( Knowing that a few members have them on their cars ) if I brought him the mufflers. Then he could fab the rest with pics from here to be a guide line. He came back saying it would take so much piping and time to fab up that it's a waste of my time as well as his. Then he procedes to try and sell my a borla set-up.
Claiming it would out flow the duals. I siad thanks for the time but I'll try another place.
