Fell Victim to the oil sending unit sensor..

ok well i was loading up my block to take it the machine shop to get that damn broken bolt out of the block and well i have no idea how it broke so now i can to replace that.. does anyone know how much it cost for one..

GM list for the '98 sensor is about $44 - cheaper at a parts store but sometimes hard to find. Don't let them give you a 99-02 sensor.

I had the PN written down (12559781) and plugged it into the gmpartsdirect website, don't know how accurate it is though....

I just had to get one because of breaking the stock one during my LS6 swap. Was quoted $51 at Napa and bought it for $40 at Advance Auto. Bought the sending unit socket at Napa for $6 and it was $13 something at Advance. Mine was for a 99 btw.

For some reason the 99-02 sensors cost more, GM list for 12562267 is $65.

Put mine on order at the zone today.-putting on new FAST manifold. Will I need tool to put it on? Broke old one, how do I get the base of old one out of block?

I just bought the $6 dollar socket to remove the base. But the best use for the socket is that after you put the new sensor back in you can just leave it on to prevent from breaking it while installing the new intake. Atleast on the LS6 I left the socket on, not sure about the FAST.
