Cutouts
Cutouts I had a quick question about cutouts. Do they actually improve horsepower? My friend suggested that they wouldn't help power at all (at least on a street car).
Does anyone have any solid dyno / track numbers to prove this, rather than just a theory?

It will improve hp, there have been several documented cases of cars showing an improvement, as well as GMHTP artical with their Red Ws.6 with the Dynatech header swap, Borla cat back and QTP cut out on the plate, the car did indeed improve.
I dont have the #'s infront of me, but this is no pipe dream, the car will improve, it also will get louder.

I think its matters mostly what kind of exhaust you have. If you had true duals i wouldnt think it would help a whole lot, but on a stock catback im sure it would.
