Default Anyone with AR Header have this problem?

I have an annoying rattle of my driver side after installing my AR headers a month or so ago. I noticed today that on the passenger side I can run my fingers around the passenger primaries and have plenty of clearance around the k member.

On the driver side I don't have nearly as much clearance and I think that is causing my rattle.

The rattle is even worse when I am at an incline on the street.

Should I try to adjust them or do I need to grind the k member some to give me more clearance? Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

My exhaust seems to hang a bit lower than when it was first installed. I can't even put a soda can between the ground and my ypipe and im at stock height.

I would recommend a poly driver side engine mount, might help your situtation.

yeah my driver's side hits the k-member but it's only when the engine shakes like when I take off from a stop. the poly motor mounts would probably help but yes you can grind the k-member some. Eventually I'm going to get a tubular k-member to give it more clearance and lose some weight.

Mine do tap the k member at W.O.T but its barely noticable. The header is not getting damaged so im going to leave it alone. I plan on going tubular K member anyways.

I bet poly mounts would fix it. Especially if your stock ones are worn out.

Yea it only rattles when at idle not when I'm driving so its not too big of a deal just kind of annoying.

I just looked at the UMI k member and I'll probably get one of those to give some more clearance and lose some weight in the future.

get up under it and look at the driver's side k member. i bet u a dollar to a donut that it's shiny where it's hittin it when your engine moves. just notch it slightly and it'll quit. i had to do the same. mine did it when i really got on it in first or second. i thought it was my y pipe bangin til the exhaust shop looked at the k member.. good luck!!

Curious. I think I am having the same problem. I installed my AR on tuesday, and have only drove the car twice since. I do have a "annoying rattle" usually when I have the wheel turned and am starting in first. I'll have to check out the k-member. Thanks for the advice

This problem is so minute for me I don't want this to sway anyone away from buying these headers because they are great.

Its really not that big of a deal. Its only a small rattle at idle and it probably really has nothing to do with the header.

They gave great performance and were very easy to install. I only had ~20" of ground clearance and they slid right in.

I'm going to be replacing the front suspension in a month or so anyways so a new k member will be in order as well as some new motor mounts.

My American Racing headers dont have any issues, your motor mounts are prob the reason.
