I just clean it, I'm afraid of that oil. It is BAD for the MAF.

Ya, cuz the cars been broke most of the time since you got it.

Anyway, Ive been told by a manager at MTI to leave the clear one alone because of this issue, not that I was going to buy it anyway, we were just shooting the ****. I have their CF lid, and my car is the fourth car its been on since it was bought now in 2001.

I'm running a fram on mine also, after seeing several of the reusable filters crap oil on the MAF. Well I'm done with that route.

mines fine, no problems with it at all, at least 1 year and a few months.

I have some minor stressing from me installing it under the lid in the back where the tabs go in. my fault since I was pushing down on it too hard.

I have had mine for close to a year now. It has seen temps anywhere from 100 to -15 degrees and it still hasn't cracked so I'm not to overly worried about it.

Mine was cracked to hell. When I bought the car in 03 it was already on it, it had some light cracks but not to bad. By the time I took it off this past january the whole back was cracked off and it did not seal at all in the back. For that matter it never seal well at all in the back. Wish I had taken some pics of it cause it was pretty bad. Went with an slp for replacement. I was never a fan of the clear lid in the first place but it came with the car so I left it untill I need a new one. I had it on the car for 4 year and it possible could have been on the car for 2 or 3 before that so lasted pretty long.

[QUOTE=bayer-z28;8219883]How in the hell did you suck up a trash bag?? Got stuck on the outside of the filter??

The bag laid across the filter evenly I guess and the engine sucked up the filter and pulled the bag into the throttle body. The filter was all mangled. The only reason I knew what had happened is because the throttle stuck at about 80%. Very exciting stuff. Luckily it is a M6 and I just pulled it outta gear.
