Question Magnaflow Catback

I am trying to make my christmas list and I was thinking of picking up the Magnaflow Catback from Maryland speed. I have an almost completely stock car as you can see below. I really wanted headers and duals since I got the car, but as a poor college student I dont think that will happen for a while. So the Magnaflow catback looks like a nice cheap good sounding alternative. Anyone with this setup want to chime in I checked ls1sounds and it sounds good, but it isnt the best judge with a camera. Thanks for any input.

Its a great sounding good stainless steel catback system that yeilds good HP gains, and is cheeper than most other stainless steel exhausts. I have had it before on a 94 Formula. I will be soon getting it again for my 98 Formula in my sig.

You might want to consider EAD Performance (one of the many sponsers on this board). They are selling the Magnaflow catbacks for only $375 which is the cheepest I've found it anywhere so far. If Maryland speed is selling it for cheeper, let me know as I am looking for the best deal as well.

do it, duals are great but really loud and if the car is a DD then you may not like it and they can get pricey if you want it out the back done the right way with mandrel piping, etc. magnaflow is great for the money and stainless and super flowing abiilies= so much nice!!! try a search because this question gets asked about twice a week.

IA2000SS's car sounds very true to what just a Magnaflow catback sounds like. Do the full exhaust (headers, and y-pip) and multiply the girth sound of IA2000SS's sound. It will be deeper, and raspier (and louder) with the full exhaust.

I have the magnaflow and love it. for a dd its great. when you have to be quiet like when the cops are tailing you its almost as quiet as the stock cb, and when you open it up it screams.

I have mine with headers and ORY, and I honestly wish it were a bit louder. But heads and cam will fix that.

It has a great tone, makes good power, and is a great value. Best catback by far.

thanks guys, well i hope it is a little louder than stock at all speeds, but is there a noticeable diffence in performance with just the catback. my friend thinks with out a tune it wont be much of a difference. i was considering gutting my cats also for a little more power and sound.

one last question for the night is do you guys have any problems with it leaking. a friend said it would probly be best to have it welded up, but i would like to avoid that to keep cost down cuz i can install it myself with the clamps. so did you guys weld it or just use the clamps in the kit? thanks again.

I just got my Magnaflow catback for $100 locally complete. It sounds amazing with my stock headers and mid pipe.

I am considering just getting a magnaflow muffler. Would just buying the muffler instead of the whole catback system free up the flow just as much

I'm also planning on buying a Magnaflow catback with quad tips for my 98 trans am. Its about $250 dollars more for the quad tips. Right???
Also gonna purchase jet hot Pacesetter long tubes (are they better than the ceramic coated)as well with an ORY pipe. I'm looking for something that is not too loud on idle but sounds good and mean at WOT. I live in Newfoundland, Canada. Where would be the best place to get these parts so I don't get nailed too much on shipping costs?
