I used to run the Random Technology catback, it was pretty quiet while driving normal, but when you get on it, its loud and sounds great.

I don't have a cam like you do, so keep that in mind. However, I think it's pretty tame considering I have an ORY and longtubes. I love the tone, and I'm hoping a cam will make it louder.

Everyone has their own definition of "loud", though.

Thats nice to hear. I have that same setup and am putting in a cam very soon My setup is pretty quite compared to a lot of others I've heard. I havn't heard the Hooker CatBack but I doubt it would outflow a good ol' MagnaFlow.

The Magnaflow is a great cat-back. It just wasn't loud enough for me. I prefer loud vehicles. But for a cat-back I don't think you can beat it. Its stainless steel, quiet when you want it to be, loud when you want it to be, and its affordable. You can probably get a really good deal on a used one on ebay. Oh look here's one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...201470487&rd=1
That's a sweet deal right there.

My setup is loud as hell. Cam/heads (high dcr) /lt's/ory/magnaflow + lm bullet in the I pipe. How loud or quiet it is largely depends on mods besides the catback.

Well I have all the same mods as you minus the heads (cam has 11 degrees of overlap) and its not loud. When you have longtubes and any kind of performance exhaust its going to have some sound. If it didn't it would be restrictive. But I still say its not loud. Click the links in my sig the top one is a magnaflow the bottom one is true duals with bullet style mufflers. Still think that Magnaflow is loud?

I am not exaggerating, mine is very loud. I think it's mostly because I am running fairly high compression (11.3/8.7) and I have big port heads. It rattles the dishes in the house when it's running in the garage. I put the loudmouth bullet in the I pipe to quiet it down but it didn't do much. I'm going to swap that out for a magnaflow bullet. Hopefully that will do the trick.

That doesn't sound anything like my SLP dual/dual.

I have Kooks 1 7/8 + catted Y + 3" pipes to the muffler & mine is very quiet until you apply the throttle.

The vid isn't the greatest in the world but it gives you an idea of how loud an LT car with cats and an SLP Dual Dual is. That is to say very quiet at part throttle. The wind noise from the window rolled down covers it up on the mic a lot of the time.

If you want quiet hands down its magnaflow. My friend put a magnaflow catback on his car when it was stock and there was little to no difference in sound but he definitely gained a few hp.
