Default Estimate the Numbers Please

I have been doing research for mods for an LS1 camaro and I think I have a pretty good set of mods. I am just wonderingwhat you guys think the following would make in terms of Horsepower at the wheels and torque at the wheels. Since I don't know if i will have an A4 or an M6 either give me #'s for both or let me know which one you used.

(I am not sure which headers to choose yet, but they will be catted)

-Magnaflow Cat-Back
-Volant CAI
-Headers w/ cats
-SLP/AFR Heads and Cam Package (525 crank)
-FAST LSx Manifold w/ 78mm Throttle Body

Thanks for you time

Well I think that the SLP/AFR H/C package would make about 420rwhp by itself, so it seems possible to get over 450rwhp/450rwtq once headers, cat-back, manifold and CAI were added...

I don't see it happening through an A4, possibly an M6, but the problem is that with either, making that much power is going to require a 12-bolt or 9-inch and a beefy driveshaft, and that's going to lose you some decent power. I lost 19/23 rearwheel going to a 3.5" aluminum DS and 12-bolt w/ 4.10s, so it makes a big difference if you think you'll be close to what you're looking for.

If you don't upgrade the rear and driveshaft, say goodbye with that kind of power, haha.

You should hope for track times instead of dyno numbers since every dyno puts out different numbers.

I was looking at a Carbon Fiber driveshaft and a Moser 12 bolt or 9 inch rear. The CF DS can gain about 5% of your hp lose back, so I figure if I had an A4 it would be about as much as a M6. Then I would also get a performance shift kit if I got an A4.

A shift kit is a must for performance.
And what makes you think that an M6 to A4 difference is 5% when you haven't even mentioned what stall you'll run? Every transmission model eats different AMOUNTS (not percentages) of power, as does every stall. So you can't make a general estimate like that 5% thing. It's just not accurate.

And this isn't ricer time. Worry about track times. Dyno numbers are worthless. Going to a stalled auto will do better than an M6 car 99% of the time, but will put down lower dyno numbers. Are you worried about performance or about just talking about performance?

450/450 really aint that much of a huge step up from 300 tbh i know quite a few guys still running around with 10 bolt and stock ds at that power maybe a tad less but def over 400 =) its not something u HAVE to do immediately, but just know its a ticking time bomb and no clue how long the fuse is set for
if you dont abuse the car all the time and take it easy with it of course it will last a while =)

Don't kid yourself. When they advertise dyno nymbers, they have every bolt intalled to drive the number up. Don't get the 78mm tb. If your gonna spend the money, get the 90. 450rwhp should be obtainable. List looks good.

Will the 90mm manifold and TB fit under the stock hood (lets say its a Z28)? The money I would save by getting the 78 I was going to put towards a sunoco style cowl hood.

Yes it will fit. The outside is the same demension, the TB inlet and the inside of the manifold are where the differences in size are.

Ok, cool. Then that could get me a few extra hp then. If if I was on the low end of 450 I guess I could spend the cash to add a small 75 shot of nitrous to the mix.

The search fuction is there for a reason...

However,

I would worry about getting a decent car for starters. Then do all the bolt-ons, then worry about a H/C package. You've got about 5-6 grand spent on upgrades and you don't even have the car. Not trying to jerk but unless you have deep pockets then a H/C package should be the least of your worries, why don't you cross each bridge as you come to it.

Pending a scholarship from college my dad said he would get me a car worth approx. 1 years tuition which would be between 20-22k. At first I was looking at 97-04 corvettes and 04-06 GTOs. But I thought it might be better to get a 98-02 camaro and then upgrade it. If I don't by chance get the scholarship I will get a loan to ge tthe car and mod it later.
